A Simple Gathering || A Women’s Spiritual Retreat

March *13-15,2026 || (Bonus Day March 12th)

Our second annual women’s spiritual retreat is being planned and prayed for! This year we have 2 options to attend.

Option 1 || Retreat only

  • A 2-night stay at an amazing lake house in Dowling Michigan.There will be plenty of space for taking long walks, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with God.
  • Check in and get settled on beginning at 4:00pm March 13th. Checkout Sunday morning.
  • All 5 meals are included. We have an amazing menu planned along with all the yummy snacks. (Even S’mores around a campfire.) *any dietary restrictions will be accommodated for.
  • In-depth teaching, worship, & time spent one-on-one in personal prayer and devotional time.
  • Meet new friends and connect with women from across the country!
  • An awesome swag bag filled with free resources, new merch, and cool surprises!
  • *There’s a good chance guests will have to share beds–so bring a friend!

Option 2 || Retreat with a Bonus Day!

  • A 3-night stay at an amazing lake house in Dowling Michigan.There will be a special evening and morning session to deepen your retreat experience. (And other fun activities & extras!) There will be plenty of space for taking long walks in the woods, enjoying the outdoors on the dock, and spending time with God.
  • Check in and get settled on beginning at 4:30pm March 12th and checkout Sunday morning March 15,2026.
  • 7/8 meals are included. Bonus guests will be eating at a local restaurant Thursday night at their own expense. We have an amazing menu planned along with all the yummy snacks for the rest of the weekend. (Even S’mores around a campfire.) *any dietary restrictions will be accommodated for.
  • In-depth teaching, worship, & time spent one-on-one in personal prayer, Q&A, and private devotional time. Friday will be a casual day!
  • Meet new friends or reconnect with old ones! This will be a smaller and more intimate setting for the Bonus Day friends to relax & get our hearts ready for the full retreat.
  • Bonus Day friends get exclusive merch & materials plus the retreat swag bag full of good stuff!
  • You get to be the welcoming crew for the guests on March 13th!!
  • *There’s a good chance guests will have to share beds–so bring a friend!

Host & Retreat speaker: Sheryl Aeschliman

Sheryl sprinkles humor and gut-level honesty into her teaching as she shares down-to-earth life stories and biblical encouragement for growing deeper in Christ. She will be opening up the book of Psalms, learning to pray using Scripture, and helping each guest step into a more meaningful, Spirit-filled faith. Her prayer is that each woman walks away from this powerful weekend with a heart that runs toward Christ with abandon.

What to bring!

(…and you won’t need the kitchen sink.)

Packing list:

  • The Midwest can have crazy weather. It could be sunny and 50* , several inches of snow, OR rain! Check the weather forcast before you leave. DRESS CASUAL & COMFORTABLE; this is NOT a fashion show. Think of dressing in layers, jeans, sweatshirt/sweats,slippers etc. Don’t overpack!
  • Personal hygiene products, washcloth, bath towel,soap, shampoo, etc…although makeup is totally optional.
  • There’s a 6 person hot tub available! If you want to use this, please bring a swimsuit & your own beach towel/flip-flops.
  • Ear plugs or eye masks, etc. You will be sharing a room with other women.
  • Any prescriptions or over-the-counter medications you many need.
  • Your favorite insulated mug for ice-water/coffee/tea is optional.
  • Bring your Bible!

Cost:

  • RETREAT ONLY GUESTS can reserve their spot at A Simple Gathering for $317. (Cost includes 2-night lodging, 5 meals, swag bag, worship, teaching & resources.) There are no additional expenses except your personal transportation to and from the venue. OPTIONAL expense: I will have a resource table available to purchase Bible studies at a discount if you are interested. I prefer cash, but credit card options will be available.
  • BONUS DAY RETREAT GUESTS can reserve their spot at A Simple Gathering for $397. (Cost includes 3-night lodging, 7/8 meals, swag bag, worship, and exclusive activities and & teaching on Thursday March 12th and morning session on Friday March 13th.) Thursday night meal will be at a local restaurant at your own expense. OPTIONAL expense: I will have a resource table available to purchase Bible studies at a discount if you are interested. I prefer cash, but credit card options will be available.

Registration:

  • Once payment is made through my shop, check your email inbox for important information from Simply Scripture. This email will contain a PDF with all the retreat details as well as a registration form with the venue address, medical forms, and allergy alerts along with any other details you might need to share to make your stay comfortable.

Flights:

  • The nearest airport to the retreat is Detroit Metro. We can help you coordinate schedules with other attendees who will also be flying and help you make arrangements to get to the venue.

Refunds:

  • Once payment is made, it is not refundable for any reason. If you are unable to attend, you may gift your spot to a friend or transfer the balance to a future retreat instead. If that occurs, please let us know asap so we can update our information and send them registration forms.

Transportation:

  • There will be parking available, but we ask that if you’re able to carpool, please do!

Activity/Health Restrictions:

  • If you have physical limitations, handicap needs, or serious medical conditions please let us know ahead of time, so we can make accommodations for sleeping arrangements, menu, etc.

Sleeping Arrangements:

  • The lakehouse has bunk beds, twins, queens, and king beds. We will do our best to make accommodations for any specific needs, but please be aware you’ll probably be sharing a room or bed with someone else.

Can I room with a friend?:

  • Sure! If you are planning on bringing a friend to the retreat, let us know and we will do our very best to have you share a room or bed.
